What a lovely weekend this has been. The weather has been dire, but that just added to the cosiness and homliness of staying in. :)

On Friday night, I attempted to make a peg bag. Now, I still have not got the hang of my new sewing machine yet, but I’m getting there, and I am quite proud of this little peggy baggy I made…

As you can see, the top is a little wonky, I had trouble going round the curves, but it’s alright for a first attempt, is’nt it? :) I have also made a pillow case from some Cath Kidston pink and white candy stripe fabric, again, this is the first time I have ever made a pillow case…

I don’t use it in the bedroom, this pillow lives in the sitting room, in it’s own lined wicker basket during the day, along with the sitting room blankets, then at night, when it is time to get settled and relax with hubby before going to bed, it comes on the settee with me, keeping me nice and comfy, and the blankies cover us keeping us nice and warm, I love been cosy!

Over the weekend I have been drinking a lot of tea. I love a nice cuppa tea, I take mine slightly milky with 2 sugars, and I just love it. I decided to make a mug cosy for my tea,  and I absolutley love it, keeps the tea hot for twice as long! …

I am rushing this post, as I want to get the supper ready before wonderful Lark Rise To Candleford starts.  :)

Over the weekend I finished one of my crochet cushion covers and I just love it! I am so proud of it, wanna see? …

I love the colours, they are so pretty…

The back I made just using half double crochet…..

The flower granny squares were a joy to make, and an even bigger joy to look at. I am going to get some wool in similar colours, to make a granny squares throw for the settee, then the cushions will match nicely, as, at the moment, we have a rather bright crochet throw on the settee, and these lovely ‘pastelly’ shades do not go with it at all. I am also going to start sanding down all our dark wood furniture this week, in readiness to give it a lick of white gloss paint, I can not wait for our furniture to be transformed from dull brown to glistening white. We’ll also be painting and papering the walls, but more about that another time. :)

I have been re-reading this book over the weekend, The Magic Apple Tree, I absolutely love this book, it is such a charming account of a year in the country.

Last night, I backed some notebooks in pretty fabric, then I cut out all the inspiring piccies from my magazines, and today I stuck those piccies in my notebooks, and I absolutely love them. It is great to be able to simply pick up your notebook, and look at your favourite pictures for inspiration, instead of having to sort through a stack of magazines before you can do so…

I decided to make a scarf  using tunisian crochet, and it is my favourite scarf now, I wear it every time we go out, I just love it..

Adds a burst of colour to any outfit. :)

Well, I had better go now, half an hour until Lark Rise starts, oh, before I go, here is a piccie of our Foxy after her long walk out today…

Bless, she can hardly keep her eyes open!

I hope you all have a really wonderful Sunday night, stay nice and cosy. :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog, I really appriciate it.

Bye for now everyone. :) :) :) xxxx

What are your plans for the weekend?

I’m afraid I have succombed to this awful cold which is going around, so I’ll be staying home, but I will not let this darn cold make me idle, no, I intend to be doing more work on this..

crocheting more of these..

And, ok, perhaps doing a lot of this…

I have been having problems with my blog. It appeared that when I left comments on your scrumptious blogs, my profile was not showing up when you clicked on my name! I have fixed that now, so that you can now see my profile and easily get to my blog, just click on my name on the comments I leave on your blogs, and you will see a link saying ‘my web page’, click on that and it will direct you to here. :) Sorry about that.

My darling husband is at the camera club at the moment. I am lieing on the settee with the laptop on my knee nearly falling asleep! I have the most awful headache, I can not wait to go to bed! But at least I am nice and cosy in here, with the 2 doggies asleep on my legs, and our kitty curled up as tight as a drum on the chair fast asleep.

All day long I have been drinking tea, the tea cosy I crocheted came in handy today! …

Keeping the pot nice and warm. I love tea cosies, and I intend on making more, they are just so snug and well….. cosy. :)

It has been snowing again today. I don’t mind the snow, infact I quite like it, but I do not like having to venture out and staying out for a long time in it, thank God for snuggly hats! These 2 that I have crocheted keep my head lovely and warm…

And those paired up with my tunisian crochet scarf…

I’m set to go, but not tomorrow thankfully. It can be minus temperatures, gale force wind and a blizzard all day tomorrow, I don’t mind, because I will be cosy and snuggly all day in our homely home. :)

Like Dorothy said,’There’s no place like home’. :) :) :) :)

What are your plans for the weekend? Whatever they are, have a wonderful time. xxxxxx
